Goal #1: The board is dedicated to focus on long-range facilities planning directly related to class size and student learning outcomes.

  • Evidence:
    • The board will hold a minimum of quarterly work sessions to review assessments from the facilities committee and/or the administration and analyze the monthly enrollment reports, current class size reports and study their impact on student performance
    • Develop a plan to align building improvement goals with educational priorities such as class size and electives to promote student interest to be completed by June of 2026
    • Identify what the buildings that are of high priority and what their specific needs are for building modifications or expansion to be completed by June of 2026
  • Explore funding possibilities such as loan, out of pocket financing, bond, etc.
    • Review Date #1: January 2026 Board Meeting
    • Review Date #2: June 2026 Board Meeting

Goal #2: The board is committed to help implement (via the superintendent and administration) a comprehensive strategy to improve student academic performance by setting clear benchmarks for student growth and staff effectiveness.

  • Evidence:
    • The board will review reports on a quarterly basis:
      • Report on training development for the staff with follow up on what curriculum and teaching methods are working and not working
      • Report on what student testing is taking place and what the expected target for improvement is in reading, math, and other focus areas by grade
      • Results of student testing for reading, math, and other focus areas by grade to analyze student achievement and growth data.
      • Monitor teacher results of student performance anonymously, tracking data by years of teaching experience.
    • The board will review plans on a semi-annual basis:
      • Review staff satisfaction surveys for effectiveness of the training, curriculum, classroom needs, administration support, etc.
    • The board will review on an annual basis:
      • Student satisfaction surveys on classroom experience, learning methods, elective interests, etc.
      • Plan developed by the administration to increase staff retention rate by X% over the next 2 years (the % needs to be determined and possibly the board can help set this?)
  • Review Date #1: January 2026 Board Meeting
  • Review Date #2: June 2026 Board Meeting

Goal #3: The board will demonstrate its appreciation for staff and improve active involvement in the school district.

  • Evidence:
    • Attend school board training
    • Visits to schools and school events
    • Participate in staff trainings
    • Attend administration meetings
    • Attend conferences and legislative road shows
  • Review Date #1: January 2026 Board Meeting
  • Review Date #2: June 2026 Board Meeting
