This is a follow up to our secure status alert incident today , April 16, 2026: Law enforcement was able to make contact with the three high school-aged youth driving the silver sedan and determined there is no threat to our schools. Earlier today, the youth attempted to gain access to Klamath Union High School by asking for a tour, were denied, and then walked around the outside of the building, peering into windows and doors. We placed all schools, with the exception of Gilchrist and Gearhart, on secure status from 10:40 to 11:25 a.m. to maintain security and keep an eye out for the vehicle the three were traveling in.
