Lost River teacher receives Honorary American FFA Degree

Sept. 18, 2026 / Lost River Jr./Sr. High School ag science teacher and FFA advisor Meghan Miller has received the Honorary American FFA Degree as an educator, honoring her years of service and contributions to agricultural education and FFA.

The degree is one of FFA’s highest honors and is presented to individuals who have made significant contributions through their service and leadership. Teachers who have developed high-quality programs and inspired and motivated students are among those eligible for the honor.

The honorary degree holds special meaning for Miller, who is beginning her 18th year as an agricultural educator -- including eight years at Henley High School and 10 years at Lost River.

Miller, a Lost River Junior/Senior High School graduate, earned her State FFA Degree as a junior in 2003. Three years later, she returned to Indianapolis with her family to receive her American FFA Degree, which recognized her sheep production entrepreneurship project and forage production placement.

She still has her FFA jacket and degrees tucked away in the closet of her classroom at Lost River -- a reminder of the path that brought her from FFA student to agricultural educator and FFA advisor.

Miller’s commitment to FFA and agricultural education extends well beyond her classroom. She serves as the South Eastern Oregon FFA District Advisor and is a member of the Oregon FFA Board of Directors, the state Career Development Event Committee and the Oregon FFA Joint Board of Directors. She also serves as the Klamath County School District CTE Professional Learning Community facilitator and vice president of the Klamath County 4-H Board of Directors.
