On 09/11/24 at 10:45 pm, the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a person making threats to a local principal at Henley High School. A suspect was developed, interviewed, and taken into custody by 11:30pm. The suspect is a recently expelled 17-year-old student at Henley High School. It is believed that the threat was made by one person alone and that person was quickly taken into custody and charged with Disorderly Conduct First Degree.

Unfortunately, another person posted on social media an audio recording of the suspect threatening the principal. In the audio he threatens to also have “5” millionaire friends to join him in what was being threatened. An additional citizen then posted information warning all parents of students to keep their children home today. This additional warning has now caused even more rumors to appear regarding the initial threat which have all been determined to be unfounded thus far.

The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office believes the only person responsible for the threat is in custody and the additional “5” individuals mentioned are imaginary. Regardless, additional deputies were assigned to patrol the Henley School complex this morning as well as all other county schools.  

Communication between the Klamath County School District and the Sheriff’s Office began late last night and continues throughout the day. The School District communicated with parents early this morning an accurate statement of the facts, however, others are continuing to verbalize and share via social media false statements and fears causing further unnecessary alarm.
