May 2, 2025 / After a full day of cooking, tasting, and bringing the heat, the Lost River Jr./Sr. High School Raiders took home the very first KCSD Iron Chef trophy! Raider team members -- Johanna Holmes, Anna Kliewer, Caelor Thompson, Preston Staebler, and Khieran Beeson -- worked with guest chef Ty Kliewer of Skyline Brewing and ag science teacher Meghan Miller.

They were among five students teams from Chiloquin, Bonanza, Lost River, Mazama, and Henley who threw down all day today (May 2) on the campus of the Henley Complex, using pork belly and pork shoulder donated by Diamond S Meats to create appetizers and entrees, two sides, and a dessert.
Dishes were scored based on taste, presentation, and originality. A shout out to our volunteer judges -- Bonnie Nork, a custom desserts chef who works with Klamath Grown; Katie Dailey, co-owner of I Love Hotdogs food truck; Lyman Mason, banquet chef at Running Y Ranch and Resort; Wyatt Paul of Pourhorse Catering; and Kyle Andersen, meat cutter at Diamond S Meats.
After the judging, family, friends, KCSD staff and board members, and community members gathered for dinner, grabbing seconds and sampling food from all the teams.
We're already counting down to next year! Who’s hungry?
