The cast of Henley's play, 'It Happened on Route 66'
Henley fall play opens Thursday, runs through Saturday
Nov. 5, 2024 / Henley High School’s fall play, “It Happened on Route 66,” opens Thursday, Nov. 7 and runs through Saturday, Nov. 9.
“It Happened on Route 66” by Todd Wallinger is a comedy set in an Arizona diner in the year 1955 along the infamous Route 66. When a movie star flees her wedding ceremony and her car breaks down near the diner, the staff help her hide, disguising her as a waitress. The cast of characters in the diner – played by Henley students – will make you smile – and laugh out loud. Henley choir and drama teacher Christopher Benjamin is directing the performance.
Opening night is Thursday in the high school’s Hampton Center for the Performing Arts. Showtime is 7 p.m. and tickets are available at the door -- $5 for students and $7 for adults. Shows continue at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday.
