Meet Klamath County School District’s class of 2025 valedictorians and salutatorians from each of our high schools – Bonanza, Chiloquin, Gilchrist, Henley, Lost River, and Mazama. These 23 students not only are at the top of their classes academically, but also participated in a variety of extracurricular activities, representing their schools and communities.

Vashti Arata Valedictorian Bonanza Jr/Sr High School Future plans: Vashti plans on earning a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting and continuing schooling for a certified public accountant license and master's degree to become a certified public accountant in Oregon. She plans to work as a financial advisor and CPA in Southern Oregon.

McKenzie Dalton Valedictorian Lost River Junior/Senior High School Future plans: I plan to attend Southwestern Oregon Community College to get prerequisites done for medical sonography. After that I plan to come back to Oregon Tech to pursue a career as an ob/gyn or pediatric ultrasound tech.

Zuliana Cobian Valedictorian Lost River Junior/Senior High School Future plans: I plan to attend OIT and dual enroll at OHSU to major in nursing. I will get my bachelor’s in nursing then do a two-year anesthesiology program. I would like to continue to live in Klamath Falls and work at Sky Lakes as a certified registered nurse anesthetist.

Carlie Palmer Valedictorian Lost River Junior/Senior High School Future plans: I plan to attend Oregon State University and major in dietetics and a minor in psychology. I would like to live in Central Oregon and work in an assisted living facility.

Avery Turner Valedictorian Lost River Junior/Senior High School Future plans: I plan to attend Washington State University and earn a bachelor’s degree in biology. I will then become a pediatric oncologist. I hope to get into a pedes program in Tennessee

Jose Alexia Cazares Valedictorian Lost River Junior/Senior High School Future plans: I plan to attend KCC for two years then transfer to OIT through the Badger to Owl program. I plan to major in cybersecurity and minor in AI development. I hope to become a cybersecurity research and development engineer.

Kayden Hartman Salutatorian Lost River Junior/Senior High School Future plans: I plan to attend Eastern Oregon University and major in fire science. I hope to eventually become a wildland firefighter.

Koy Mauch Valedictorian Mazama High School Future plans: After graduation, Koy plans to attend the University of Oregon, where he will major in psychology. He is interested in the mental aspects of life, especially how it relates to athletics. Koy aspires to become a sports psychologist.

Margaret Pizano Valedictorian Mazama High School Future plans: After graduation, Maggie plans to attend Oregon Tech (OIT), where she will major in biology-health sciences with hopes of pursuing a career in health care as a team trainer.

Logan Blakely Salutatorian Mazama High School Future plans: After graduation, Logan plans to attend Oregon Tech (OIT) and major in civil engineering with aspirations of becoming a civil engineer or working in the construction field.

Katelynn Whalen Salutatorian Mazama High School Future plans: After graduation, Katelynn plans to attend Oregon State University, where she will major in psychology. She hopes to pursue a career as a therapist to help others through life’s challenges.
