Stearns third-graders create living museum
History came to “life” last week when third-graders at Stearns Elementary School presented their living history wax museum to family and friends.
Students researched historical figures, created an exhibit and then dressed up as that person for the museum program. At a push of a “button,” the student began talking about their person’s life.
Third-grader Adyline Fremouw spent two weeks learning about Amelia Earhart, the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She disappeared over the Pacific Ocean in 1937 while enroute to Howland Island from New Guinea.
“I wanted to learn about her because she had an exciting life,” Adyline said.
Third-grader Trenton Baez (representing Isaac Newton) held an apple in one hand. Why? “Because Isaac Newton found out about gravity by watching how an apple fell,” he said.
Other famous people represented in the Stearns living wax museum exhibit included Dr. Suess, Isaac Newton, Neil Armstrong, Henry Ford, Barack Obama, Mohammad Ali, and Susan Anthony, among others.
The students are third-graders in Brittni Myhre and Greg Murdock classes.
