What is "Title I"?
- Funds to provide services and resources to children who are failing, or most at risk of failing, to meet challenging state academic standards.
- May be used for staffing, professional development, programs, curriculum, assessments, technology, parent involvement, as well as other specific expenditures
- Funding provided under Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
Types of Programs:
- School-wide = all students
- Targeted- students identified for the program based on performance on assessments
- Due to having greater than 40% low-income families, Chiloquin Jr/Sr High School uses the Schoolwide formula to benefit all students

Title I Parent Involvement Funds
- Amount of funds available for this year: $727. This money is yet to be determined due to COVID-19 and Social Distancing Protocols.

Our district uses the below curriculum in order to help the children achieve the Common Core State Standards.
- SMc Curriculum Core Focus Math
- Big Ideas HS Math
- Holt Elements of Literature 7-12
- Glencoe Science 7-12

Your child will be taking the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBAC) for Math and Reading in grades 7,8,11. Science is tested in grades 8 and 10/11 using OAKS.
- Four Proficienct Levels for the SBAC
- Exceeds
- Meets
- Nearly Meets
- Did not Meet
- Our goal is for your student to reach the "Meets" level on the SBAC. Our overall goal is that every student makes adequate growth.

Timeline
- SBAC: Test is administered from March- May
- SBAC: Notified the following school year.
- Due to COVID-19, assessments have been paused or limited during the past 2 years
