Club Purpose:

The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationwide organization for high school students that recognizes their outstanding academic and leadership accomplishments. NHS elevates Mazama’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character by encouraging students to develop further involvement in school activities and community service.

Costs Associated with Membership:

There is no membership cost associated with Mazama NHS.

 

Time Commitment Required of Student:

Students are required to participate in two community service projects—one completed each semester of at least five service hours each. One community service project is completed through a Mazama NHS-sponsored event and the other is initiated by the student themselves that they believe has an impact on our community.

 

There will also be monthly meetings completed during lunch period. Students are required to attend 7 out of the 9 meetings each school year.

 

New sophomore inductees will also participate in Mazama’s annual Induction Ceremony to honor their new commitment and recognize their achievements leading to their membership.
