Overview of School-Wide Plan and Goals
At Ferguson, our Title I plan is to use resources to improve student reading and math scores as well as focus on behavior support and attendance. Our goals are specific to reading and attendance improvement. However, we are using our fiscal and personnel resources to work in math and behaviors as well. In addition to all of this, we plan to work diligently to make more connections with families to increase our ability to work together to help students learn and achieve.
Goal 1-Reading
Our Goal is that 75% of our students meet their targeted growth goal on the i-Ready diagnostic assessment. This would show that students are improving at an expected rate, filling holes, and making progress in reading.
Activities-Targeted small group instruction throughout the day in phonics, fluency, and comprehension. We will use our intervention position as well as Title I paraprofessionals to make the groups small enough to provide instruction and feedback based on student needs.
Goal 2- Attendance
Our goal is to increase our percentage of regular attendees. For the 2022-23 school year, we had 68% of our students be considered regular attenders. We need that to increase if we are going to help every student achieve.
Activities- Attendance awards, positive postcards home, calls made by teacher and admin, letters home, use community resources, and our new district attendance director. We will make home visits and be persistent in contacting students with noticeable attendance issues.
Parent Engagement Goal
Increase the number of parents involved in school activities and the number of times families and teachers have opportunities to positively connect: Booster club, conferences, field day, class parties/events, etc.
Activities: will use Facebook to reach out, monthly newsletters, and emails to share what is going on and how parents can help. We will host two Family nights to get parents coming to school to participate in fun activities with their children. This will increase our connection to families and them to us.
