Due to a high number of staff illnesses and lack of substitutes, Peterson Elementary, Shasta Elementary, Ferguson Elementary, Chiloquin Elementary and Chiloquin Junior/Senior High schools will be closed on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026. All after school and extracurricular activities are canceled. These closures are being made in consultation with Klamath County Public Health to allow students and staff who are ill to recover and to provide custodial teams the opportunity to deep clean and disinfect school buildings. Please be aware there is currently an outbreak of illness in the community. Families are encouraged to monitor for symptoms and, whenever possible, keep students home when they are ill. We also encourage continued healthy practices such as frequent handwashing and staying home when sick to help prevent further spread. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our schools safe and healthy.
