2/3 Grade Renee Criss

Welcome to a new school year.  I am excited to be your child’s teacher this year.

First, school supplies for your child are in the classroom.  Please make sure that you have paid your school supply fee in the office.  We do need children to bring their own backpack to carry things to and from school.  If this is a problem please let me know.

Everyday there will be organized physical activity for your child.  Children need to bring in tennis shoes everyday to wear for PE, and girls who would like to wear skirts and dresses need to bring shorts to pull on underneath so they may participate.  If your child would like to bring shoes to leave in class they may.

I have supplied every child with a bright red homework folder.  This folder will include their reading slip, math homework, and notes from school.  Please check this folder nightly to see what needs to be done.

Reading-  Your child will be required to read every night for 20 minutes.  There will be a reading sheet in the homework folder that you must sign.  Please sign in the box after your child has written 3 sentences about what they have read.

Math-  Your child will have a math assignment to work on each night.  Most nights it will be a review side of what was worked on that day in class.  On days that we have a test, they may bring home fact sheets to practice.

Spelling-  Your child will receive a spelling packet at the beginning of the week.  It will be due on the last day of the week.  It may be done at anytime and turned in when finished.  It equals out to one page per night of the week.

Please feel free to contact me at anytime at school.  I will be here from 7:30a.m. until 3:30 p.m.  I will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the classroom or your child. I hope you all had a great summer and are looking forward to a wonderful school year!

Remember:     Backpack and tennis shoes everyday!
